Occasional Digest - a story for you

STRICTLY Come Dancing’s latest eliminated pairing has been revealed ahead of tonight’s results show in an online spoiler.

However, it has not been verified whether the information is accurate.

From wild Pete Wicks‘ hip-thrusting George of the Jungle routine to Wynne Evans‘ laugh out loud turn as Mrs Doubtfire, it was nonstop entertainment.

In tonight’s show, the BBC pro dancers will come together for a routine based around classic rom-com hits.

Choreographed by Jason Gilkison, the routine will be the perfect end to a weekend full of movie-inspired routines.

A BBC insider said: “Expect sparks to fly and hearts to skip a beat as the pros take to the floor in a routine that celebrates love in true Strictly style.”

The pros will don a variety of brightly coloured outfits as well as a few retro fits for the routine, which is set to kickstart the evening’s results show.

Elsewhere, fans will be treated to a performance by renowned pianist Alexis Ffrench as the musical guest.

There will then be the dreaded dance-off with one celebrity couple set to face the chop.

  • Could love be in the air for Pete and Jowita?

Strictly Come Dancing fans are holding out hope that Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał will become a couple after their undeniable chemistry was showcased in a recent video.

Just two weeks into the competition, the duo has quickly become fan favorites, with many believing they are “falling in love” as they grow closer.

Last week, judge Shirley Ballas remarked that their chemistry was “too hot to handle,” a sentiment echoed by Motsi Mabuse.

  • Aljaž breaks silence on alleged ‘shocking’ tour incident

Aljaž Škorjanec has finally addressed the alleged ‘shocking’ incident that occurred during the Strictly Come Dancing tour in 2022.

The Sun previously revealed how the dancer – who has returned to this year’s show – agreed to leave under a cloud over the incident.

But now Aljaž has finally addressed the incident – insisting he was not abusive backstage.

Speaking to the Daily Star, the 34-year-old said: “It’s difficult to read. Of course it’s hurtful. It’s a bit out of my control.

“All I can do is have my chin up and move forward. That’s the best thing to do.”

A BBC spokesperson said they did not recognise the claims against Aljaz and that it was his decision to leave in 2022.

  • Craig defends decision amid controversy

Craig Revel Horwood has stood by his decision to eliminate Strictly star Tom Dean amid accusations of a fix on the show.

The first dance off this season saw Tom, going up against pop star Toyah Wilcox.

Despite Tom and his partner scoring more points and ranking higher on the leaderboard than Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones, they were the first couple to be eliminated in 2024.

Craig was quizzed earlier today on their decision, and told ITV show Lorraine: “I didn’t want him to leave either.

“I know the next question on everyone’s lips is why did I choose Toyah over Tom?

“The reason was musicality. I have to choose not from my favourite but from a dance perspective.

“Of course I didn’t want to see Tom go I thought he had a shining future.”

  • Why didn’t Nick Knowles performing this week?

Nick Knowles was forced to withdraw from last night’s live show after suffering a knee injury during rehearsals.

The 62-year-old DIY SOS star took a tumble while attempting a jump during a dress rehearsal, leaving him on crutches and unable to perform.

After The Sun revealed the news, Nick broke his silence on X, saying: “I’m absolutely gutted and feeling very, very sad.”

This is the second injury Nick has faced during his Strictly journey, following a shoulder and arm injury sustained while changing a car tyre.

Nick had been scheduled to perform a lively Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2.

  • Who do you think is going to end up going tomorrow?

And who do you think is going to impress the judges next week?

  • Pete Wicks also nearly managed to send his partner Jowita Przystal flying in a huge blunder.

During their routine he extended his leg too early and nearly made the dancer trip over.

“Been ages since I saw somebody properly stack it on #strictly,” one pointed out.

Another wrote: “Pete nearly sent Jowita flying.”

  • Meanwhile other fans are convinced that show bosses are trying to get rid of one pairing thanks to an ‘obvious clue’.

Some think that Toyah has been given the “death slot”.

It refers to the place in the running order which is least likely to throw up success.

Writing online, one fan said: “Toyah has the death slot, seems like they want her to go now that she’s made it to Movie Week.”

Another added: “A Samba and Toyah is in the death spot. OH DEAR!”

  • Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly broke their silence on Nick Knowles’ show absence last night.

The pair explained at the start of the show why the DIY SOS star wasn’t taking part.

Tess explained: “In rehearsals yesterday, Nick sustained an injury and is unable to perform.”

Claudia added: “Nick we are all wishing you a speedy recovery.”

  • Who is at the bottom of the leader board?

Toyah and Neil’s performance failed to impress the judges… and they were scored just 15 points!

  • Who is at the top of the leader board right now?

Love Island’s Tasha and Aljaz after their incredible performance this evening.

  • But don’t worry…

Nick will be back next week dancing his best moves on Strictly.

  • Why was Nick missing from tonight’s episode?

The DIY SOS star told fans: “So bad news again for me I’m afraid.

“After the though week I had, everything was going really, really well this week. In fact training is going really well and I’d started I think, and according to Luba, to dance very well but during rehearsals today… I managed to sort of fall and hurt my knee.

“And the medics were great, the physios were great, lots of ice on it looking after me.

“But after having a look at it they’ve decided I needed an MRI scan.”
