Eddie Howe‘s side were in action against the reigning champions in Saturday’s Premier League early kick-off.

During the second half of the match, a high-profile guest was shown on screen for TV viewers watching at home.

The figure, draped in a Newcastle scarf, appeared to be watching intently as the Toon battled City.

Beneath his black and white bar scarf, he wore a black LIV Golf jacket.

The controversial former golfer is said to be worth more than £300million following successful investments.

While the 69-year-old also briefly dated Sue Barker during his pomp.

Nowadays, Aussie Greg Norman can be found backing the Toon.

Newcastle, Saudi-backed like LIV Golf, went on to draw 1-1 with City.

The former golfer’s appearance was the subject of much debate on social media.
