SHE’S synonymous with the look.
But Molly-Mae Hague has admitted she’s received “2,000” comments all telling her she needs to ditch her slicked back bun.
In a video on YouTube as she got ready for a wedding in Cannes, Molly said: “I saw a TikTok the other day saying some girls need to be told that the stick back bun does not look good on them.
“And the comments were all saying ‘Someone needs to tell Molly Mae about this’ and the comment got like 2,000 likes.
“I was like, ‘That’s me never doing my favorite hairstyle ever again then!'”
But Molly went on to insist she “really likes” her slicked back bun, as she continued to style it for the wedding.

However, she did admit that she worries about people being able to see her hair extension bonds.
“These are the ones in shade ice blonde that I was talking about,” she pointed out.
“They’re very prominent when you tie your hair up.
“You can see them all here.”
But in a bid to cover the bonds up, Molly got a pintail comb, and did her best to “hide them with my non extension hair”.
“Let’s just see how this goes!” she laughed.
A clip of the YouTube video was shared on TikTok, with people quick to defend Molly in the comments section.
“She literally created the slick bun!” one raged.
“She looks so cute with her slicked back bun,” another said.
“What! The slick back bun looks so good on her,” a third commented.
Slick back bun looks good on everyone bc it’s neat and pulled back. I haven’t seen one person and thought that it looked bad…
“Omg no she rocks the slick back bun,” another added.
The 4 stages of the hair growth cycle
Hair experts at Philip Kingsley shared the four stages of the hair growtn cycle are: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen
Anagen Phase: Also known as the ‘Growth Phase’ or ‘Active Phase’, is when the cells in the root of your hair are most rapidly dividing so more new hair is formed.
During the Anagen Phase, hair grows around half an inch a month [about six inches a year], and faster in the summer than in winter.
This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.
Catagen Phase: Following the Anagen Phase, your hair cycle enters a short transitional phase known as the Catagen Phase, which signals the end of active hair growth and cuts individual hairs off from the blood supply and from the cells that produce new hair.
Approximately three percent of all hairs are in this stage at any time and it lasts for around 10 days.
Telogen Phase: The third stage of your natural hair growth cycle is the Telogen Phase, a resting period when strands remain in their follicles but are not actively growing.
An estimate of 10-15 percent of your hairs are in the Telogen Phase at any given moment.
The Telogen Phase lasts around three months or 100 days.
Exogen Phase: The final stage of the Hair Growth Cycle, when individual hair strands are released from their follicles and fall out.
Now the whole process begins again.
“She’s probably the only person that suits the slicked back bun! I look like an egg,” a third laughed.
As others insisted the look doesn’t look good on anyone.
“I don’t the fully slick back suits anyone,” one insisted.
“The slick back looks bad on everyone,” another added.
“You’ve all been gas lit and also will get traction alopecia if you keep doing it.”
“It makes everyone look bald. That’s a fact,” a third stated.
