The toilet, which was originally white and grey, has been turned into an eye-popping, maximalist space.

The video, which was posted to Dunelm’s official Instagram account, saw Fran, a stylist at Dunelm, show followers the steps she took to transform the small room.

The caption for the video read: “Would you LOO-k at this!

“With self-adhesive tiles and pre-cut paneling, plus paper you can put up easy-peasy, doing up a little loo needn’t be a mammoth job.

“Here’s our stylist Fran to show you how…”

First, she painted the ceiling in a gorgeous green and cleverly painted a foot at the top of the walls to create a “dropped ceiling” effect.

Fran described this effect as “cocooning” the room.

Next, she grabbed a few packs of Dunelm’s DIY Panelling Kits and created rails along the walls, and square panels below.

Using the same green colour as the ceiling, she covered the panelled area, leaving a strip of white wall between the two, where she laid “maximalist monkey wallpaper”.

“It took only one roll [of wallpaper] to make this much impact,” Fran said.

It was then time to freshen up the floor.

Using four packs of self-adhesive floor tiles, the space was starting to look really different.

Fran then chose a vintage light before finishing the bathroom off with lots of colourful accessories and a plant.

“I added artwork, plants, candle and a mirror which doubles as a handy towel rail,” she explained.

“I also put up a little shelf over the radiator for my diffusers.

“Finally, a cafe curtain in the window and a bath mat makes the space super cosy.”

The video has got over 17k likes and loads of comments.

And revealed the number one colour that will never go out of style.
