A MAN has revealed how he transformed his garden using a bargain B&M buy.
We all treat out garden like our own piece of paradise but it can be hard to fully enjoy it with neighbours around.
And while most of us are fortunate enough to get on with our neighbours – you still don’t want them peeping over the fence whenever you’re relaxing out there.
And one man, Neil Moules revealed the bargain buy he found to create some extra privacy without buying a new fence.
His fence was a short fence with the top half being a trellis.
The open diamond pattern meant his neighbours could clearly see through to his garden.
Instead of replacing the whole thing he found a B&M buy to close the gaps.
Taking to social media, Neil said: “First time using this screening, absolutely spot on for privacy. Before and after.
“Would recommend it, bought from B&M.”
The next image saw his brand new fake pine needle screening over the trellis.
In an instant, he was given more privacy in his garden while adding some more greenery.
In the comments of the post shared to Garden Makeover ideas on a budget he revealed it cost £22 for three metres of screen from the budget retailer.
While it is out of stock online at the moment, a similar screen can be purchased for just £29.99 from B&Q.
Another garden enthusiast was looking for a privacy solution as well.
Dontrell Black also took to Facebook to show off the new fence her husband made himself on a budget.
Instead of opting for fence panels where costs start from £30 and can go up to over £100, the couple uses pallets instead.
How high can a garden fence be?
Despite what many people think a garden fence can be as high as 100m but you need to get planning permission for any fence taller than 2m.
Any fence under 2m does not need planning permission.
However, there are some complications to this.
If you are thinking about front garden fences, restrictions state that fences alongside a driveway can be a maximum of 1m or 3ft.
You would need to get planning permission for putting a trellis on a fence of 2m.
But, if any plant that you grow on that trellis exceeds 2m, you do not need to obtain a permit for the growing plant.
Pallets are often using for construction sites and you can find used ones online for a bargain price.
“Our fence – I’m very proud of my husband – a cheap solution – all boards from pallets,” she added.
