ANIMAL print is a timeless trend, and Ganni has been a leader in recent times, with its gorgeous puff sleeve top.

But shoppers on a tighter budget should head to Marks & Spencer, where they can pick up a £35 alternative, which is £150 cheaper.

Animal Print Bow Puff Sleeve Blouse, £35

High-street favourite M&S has launched the Animal Print Bow Puff Sleeve Blouse as partof M&S’ latest new in drop, which I have already raved about.

The new design retails for a purse-friendly £35, while Ganni‘s original costs £185 – that’s a big, big difference.

But when it comes to both outfits’ look and design, you can hardly spot the difference (sorry, couldn’t help myself).

Both the M&S design and Ganni version feature leopard print, and, admittedly the spot print is slightly different when put side-by-side.

Ganni’s spot print is closer together and a concentrated pattern.

The leopard print also appears lighter because the design sits on a white background.

By contrast, M&S’s animal print features larger spots, which sit on a camel gradient background colour and gives the illusion of a darker, bolder finish.

The other difference is Ganni’s top features a poplin detail, which ruffles out around the lower part of the rib cage.

The M&S top doesn’t feature this poplin detail and is a straight box fit, which I actually prefer as poplin and smock designs come in and out of fashion.

Both tops feature a round neck to hug the neckline, oversize blouson puff sleeves, which fall approximately 3/4 down the arm, and three bow tie front fastening.

Leopard Cotton Poplin Peplum Blouse, £185

If we take a closer look at the fabrics, there is another difference. Ganni uses 100% cotton for its Leopard Cotton Poplin Peplum Blouse, but M&S’ has created its similar design using viscose.

Ganni has also created numerous colourways of the popular design, which include a plain black version, all white alternative, a blue floral print design, as well as a blue and white vertical stripe.

However, the M&S animal print blouse is only available in the one variation.

Ganni’s blouse is available to shop in UK dress sizes 4 to 24, while M&S has created their blouse to fit UK dress sizes 6 to 24, so only one size difference.

Shoppers have yet to share their thoughts on M&S’ Animal Print Bow Puff Sleeve Blouse, but the site claims it is “in demand” and is “selling fast” as 22 have sold in the last 22 hours.

I would pair both the Ganni and M&S tops the exact same way, and there are various style options too.

Simply sport the top buttoned up with a pair of black or blue denim jeans, whether they are mom fit, boyfriend, wide leg or skinny.

You could even style with jorts, or shorts. (Hint: M&S has a very impressive rang of jeans too.

I would marry this combination with either trainers, ballet pumps, sandals – most likely the popular Birkenstocks or faux Hermes design – heeled boots, or a heel, whether it is a pointed toe or thong kitten heel to take from day to night.

Alternatively, wear this blouse over a satin slip skirt, whether it is maxi, midi or mini length, even a satin slip dress for a more evening affair.

While I wouldn’t wear anything under, bar a bralette, some may prefer to layer a cami top in black, neutral shades or white, underneath.

I have even seen some style this blouse with a white maxi tiered skirt, which looks super comfortable, casual but bang on trend.
