This is according to one expert, only known as @cleanasawhistleee, who took took to TikTok to share the viral trends she’d steer clear from – so, if you’re looking to transform your home, you might want to listen up.

One of the popular interior looks you’ll never catch the cleaning pro spend money on is a set of matte black kitchen doors, she warned in the now-viral video.

Although this trend has become all the rage and gives the kitchen a more chic feel, the expert explained that the getting rid of all the fingerprints ”would be a nightmare”.

Meanwhile, when it comes to revamping your bathroom, the guru had several pet peeves she couldn’t stand, including a wooden toilet seat.

Much rather sticking to a different alternative, the North East-based guru said it was ”super unhygienic and mould‘s best friend”.

Although tiles in your bathroom are a popular choice for many, Lee was not a fan of one design in particular – small tiles.

This is because, she warned in the video, you’d have to tackle cleaning ”1000x more grout” compared to larger tiles.

But if you insist on having smaller tiles, whatever the design may be, there’s an easy DIY concoction that will make it sparkle like new and remove any mould with no faff.

Cleaning guru Iwan Carrington recently shared a great hack for banishing mouldy grout using bicarbonate of soda and Hydrogen Peroxide.

The pro mixed the two ingredients together until they form a cement-like paste.

“What I like to do is put my rubber gloves on and apply directly onto the grout with the paste,” Iwan noted.

After applying the mix on the area, Iwan let it do its magic for ten or so minutes, before scrubbing the paste away with an electric appliance.

Although the step of using an electric tool isn’t essential, it is advised that fellow cleaning enthusiasts wear eye production as the mixture can splatter.

Informing her 2.9k followers on the platform, the TikTok pro also explained why waterfall taps, as trendy as they might be, can cause a headache to cleaning fans.

”Super hard to get right in and clean them properly.”

Last but certainly not least – free-standing baths, which have become a hot pick for many home interior lovers.

Trends interior designers hate

IF you want to ensure that your home looks glam, here are the trends that interior designers can’t stand.

NO YELLOW: According to Bilal Rehman, yellow paint in a bedroom is a big no no.

He said: “If you want everyone to know you’re a horse girl then yellow is perfect for you.”

SIGN OFF: Kelly Hoppen shared her honest thoughts on Live, Love, Laugh signs.

The interior pro explained: “Another gripe of mine – Live, Laugh, Love – those kinds of wooden things that sit on book shelves and floating shelves, that’s so 10, 12, 15 years ago.”

NO GREY YAY: Julie Provenzano explained that grey interiors have been overdone.

She stressed: “We took a good thing and we overdid it to the point that it now feels copy, paste, basic.”

Similarly to the small tiles on the wall, the expert said you’re gonna be left with ”double the amount of cleaning to do than a regular bath”.

Since being shared on the platform, the video has racked up more than 152k likes and several comments.

One said: ”Finally one where I agree with it all!”

Another chimed in: ”Matt black kitchen cupboard owner here. And you’re absolutely right.”

”Also jacuzzi baths… such a pain to maintain,” a third added.
