And now the brunette host has issued an update on her ongoing struggle.

She told the Daily Star: “The tumour is a benign acoustic neuroma which they don’t really know how they are caused.

“I am in close contact with my consultant and recently it was great to hear that it hasn’t grown so I can put off treatment.

“Eventually, I may need treatment to shrink it but with these things, you never know, it could shrink itself.

“My hearing is slightly compromised in that ear and it causes low-level tinnitus which can disrupt my sleep but I’ve learnt to live with it and I’m used to it.”

At the time, Edinburgh-born Kirsty opened up on the knock-on effects of her condition.

She wrote online: “The tumour has caused severe tinnitus which makes it very difficult to sleep.

“Sadly, my 3am starts at GB News, compounded by sleep deprivation, are exacerbating symptoms.”

Kirsty said she hoped to return to the breakfast show as soon as possible.

She added: “As I adjust to managing my condition, I will carry on my less disruptive work commitments.”

Tinnitus sufferers hear noises, such as ringing, which seem to come from inside their head.

Elsewhere Kirsty cuddled up to her new boyfriend as they stepped out for a walk around London.
