Aug. 24 (UPI) — Vice President Kamala Harris will campaign in Georgia next week, just days after accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination.

Harris and running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz are scheduled to kick off a bus tour in the key swing state Wednesday, beginning in south Georgia.

From there, the two will drive to Savannah for a Thursday night rally.

Harris and Walz had previously scheduled an event in Savannah earlier in the month, but had to postpone it because of Hurricane Debby.

“Campaigning in this part of the Peach State is critical as it represents a diverse coalition of voters, including rural, suburban, and urban Georgians – with a large population of Black voters and working class families,” Harris’ campaign said in a media release.

The campaign is expected to release a full list of campaign stops on the Georgia bus tour closer to Monday.

Harris held the second rally of her presidential campaign in Atlanta on July 30. The campaign said it attracted more than 10,000 people.

Harris and Walz are also widely expected to record their first interview together at some point next week.

On Thursday night, Harris formally accepted the Democratic Party nomination for president, promising if elected “to be a president for all Americans.”

Meanwhile, former president Donald Trump will be in Michigan on Tuesday.

The Republican Party nominee is scheduled to head to Big Rapids in Mecosta County, Mich.

Trump and running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance will touch on the economy, inflation and manufacturing during their remarks there.

The former president campaigned Thursday at the Arizona-Mexico border, where he labeled Harris a “Marxist” over the White House’s handling of illegal immigration in the United States.
