Chilwell has even been forced to train away from the first-team squad along with several other notable players, including Raheem Sterling.

According to talkSPORT, United have now been offered the chance to sign the 27-year-old.

The Red Devils were previously linked with a move for Chilwell earlier this summer due to their ongoing left-back woes.

Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are both currently sidelined, with Erik ten Hag forced to start Diogo Dalot on the left of his defence against Fulham on Friday.

Chelsea are understood to not be standing in Chilwell’s way if an appropriate offer comes in.

The player himself is also said to be assessing his transfer options having been left out of the squad for their season opener.

Marc Cucurella got the nod instead for Sunday’s loss to Manchester City after Maresca said Chilwell does not fit into his playing style.

He doubled down in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday with a brutal update on his squad situation.

Maresca told reporters: “They are training apart. As I said, the situation is quite clear and there is not any update on the situation.

“They are Chelsea players until they are not Chelsea players. But it’s impossible to give them all minutes.

“Those who want minutes, they are better off to leave.”

Chilwell will once again not be involved on Thursday as the Blues face Servette in the Conference League.

The former Leicester full-back joined Chelsea in 2020 and penned a contract extension in April last year through until 2027.

He has scored nine goals and added 12 assists in 106 appearances for the club during his time in West London.

However, knee and hamstring injuries limited Chilwell to just 13 league matches last term.
