A woman has been charged in a brazen attempt to scam Elvis Presley’s family out of ownership of the King’s iconic Graceland home and museum.
Lisa Jeanine Findley faces mail fraud and aggravated identity theft charges.
She is accused of forging a loan agreement and court documents.
She claimed to have loaned Lisa Marie Presley $3.8 million and used Graceland as collateral for the loan.
Findley claimed the loan was never repaid before Elvis’ daughter died last year.
Findley allegedly posed as three different people tied to an alleged fake lender called Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC.
Findley was seeking $2.85 million from the Presley family to settle the outstanding debt, prosecutors say.
She even published a bogus foreclosure notice in a Memphis newspaper, announcing a planned auction of Graceland.
The Presley family says Findley forged Lisa Marie Presley’s signature on documents and also created fake court documents.
The planned auction was blocked by a judge when the Presley family filed an injunction.
Graceland is a National Historic Landmark, and welcomes about 600,000 visitors a year.
