The three-day ceremony of the Urs (the death anniversary of a Sufi saint) begins with poetry marathons, literature conferences, and other activities to celebrate the poetry of the Sufi saint.
Each year scores of devotees and visitors from all parts of the country travel to Bhitshah to attend the Urs and offer special prayers.
The Urs is one of the few public holidays allowed in Sindh after the provincial government decided to abolish most other public holidays.
All offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils falling under the Sindh government, except essential services, will remain closed.
