Occasional Digest - a story for you

AMAZON’S got some killer tech deals on right now, and I’ve found two tablets you’ll want to check out.

The Samsung Galaxy A9+ is now available for under £160, but there’s also a fantastic alternative of the same size priced at just £69.29, getting shoppers buzzing.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ Tablet, £239 £154.99

If you’re hunting for bargain tech, Amazon’s the spot to check out, and these two offers really show why.

First up, I found the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+, dropped from £239 down to a much more approachable £154.99.

It’s currently climbing up the charts on Amazon’s best-selling tablets list, which is no surprise for a brand name like Samsung at that price.

There’s no denying that the Galaxy Tab A9+ is a premium piece of kit, and with a sleek metal body and 11-inch LCD display running at 90Hz, it certainly looks the part.

It’s powered by Android 13, which is upgradable to 14, and One UI 6, which ramps up customisation options.

I particularly like the look of the split-screen function, which can be divided into three for an extra productivity kick.

If storage is a priority, the Galaxy Tab A9+ isn’t short of it. With up to 4GB of RAM for multitasking and 64GB of internal storage expandable to up to 1TB, there’s plenty of space for all your high-res files.

It sports a 5100mAh battery, which is pretty solid for this type of device, giving you about 12-13 hours of runtime, at least on paper.

Safe to say, shoppers are taken with the Galaxy Tab A9+, with 510 5-star reviews, with one praising: ‘It’s been great for my tasks on the move. All Microsoft 365 works excellently when using the Samsung. Couldn’t be happier.’

Another wrote: ‘The tablet is very good, I use it every day and I would buy one again without question. Perfect size for reading books and magazines, and links with other Samsung devices.’

I also came across a fantastic alternative to the Galaxy Tab A9+ for anyone who’s not hung up on brand names or just wants to save some cash.

The Feclydet A6H Tablet was originally priced at £89.99, but you can now grab it for just £69.29, thanks to an additional 10% voucher available below the listed price until August 19.

When browsing tablets under the £100 mark, though, it’s smart to be wary, especially if they’re making lofty promises.

Still, a few exceptions, like the Feclydet A6H, are earning high praise from buyers who say it does deliver; even if the name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.

You still get that same 11-inch display, and while the resolution drops to 1280×800 compared to the sharper 1920×1200 on the Tab A9+, the savings make it a pretty sweet deal.

Even though it’s a lot more affordable, it actually outperforms the Galaxy Tab A9+ in a few key areas.

While Samsung’s 4GB of RAM is decent, it might lag under heavier tasks compared to the Feclydet, which comes with 10GB of RAM offering a better performance edge.

And though both tablets offer expandable storage up to 1TB, the Feclydet starts with 128GB, doubling Samsung’s 64GB.

While battery stats are always a bit of a mixed bag, Samsung’s tablet packs a 5,100mAh battery, which should give you around 10-12 hours of use.

If you’re looking for more endurance, the Feclydet boasts a larger 6,800mAh battery which should last about 12-15 hours.

It seems to be flying under the radar for now, but those who have discovered it are loving it, giving it an impressive 4.4 rating.

One shopper dubbed it ‘perfect’, writing: ‘The expandable memory is a huge plus. The battery life is impressive, lasting through a full day of use. It’s a fantastic device for both work and play.’

Another shared: ‘I’ve had this tablet for a couple of weeks now, and I’m really blown away. It’s super-smooth and responsive, even when I have multiple apps running.’

‘Whether I’m surfing the web, watching videos, or playing games, it handles everything with ease,’ they continued.

Considering it’s on the shallow end of the budget market, there are a few trade-offs, which haven’t escaped attention.

One buyer summed it up nicely, admitting: ‘One slight drawback is that some apps don’t seem fully optimized for the screen resolution, appearing slightly stretched. But given its price point, it’s a minor sacrifice for an otherwise stellar device.’

Amazon’s been winning with these deals lately, and I’ve been unearthing some fantastic bargains on some lesser-known brands.

For instance, just last week I came across another amazing laptop deal that went from £440 down to £280, as customers dub it a ‘marvellous upgrade’.
