CELEBS Go Dating star Tristan Phipps has revealed he clashed with agent Paul C Brunson after some tough love advice on the show.
Tristan, 26, is hoping to find love on the E4 dating show a year after his split from co-star Olivia Bentley.
But love guru Paul gave Tristan some home truths during his time in the agency – with the Chelsea boy admitting “I was knocked down a few pegs”.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun at the press launch this week, Tristan said: “I was accidentally playing games a lot with girls in dating and life.
“I think it’s because I was holding people at arms lengths and not being honest about my feelings towards them.
“By the end of it, I was very much in tune.
“I was knocked down a few pegs by Paul on many occasions and learnt a lot of lessons.”
The Made In Chelsea star continued: “It was definitely a good way of learning, quite a hard way of learning.
“They really get into you and make you grow quite aggressively.”
When asked if there were any huge fallouts with the experts, Tristan said: “I think you’ve just got to swallow the pill at that point, they are experts.
“The medicine is going to be served whether you take it or not – you just have to take it on the chin.
“I think they know exactly what they’re doing.
“There has been known to be some big egos in TV, myself included. It’s never nice.”
Back in 2022, Paul tried to give Tristan’s co-star Miles Nazaire a wake up call when he was forced to confront his past.
Viewers watched Paul and Miles clash when he told the reality star that he wouldn’t find love unless he changed his ways.
Miles previously told The Sun: “He described me as the most self-centered, shallow person he’s ever met.
“And he said I only care about myself and no one else.
“And if I continue this way, I’ll be unhappy for the next 15 years.”
Miles went on: “I didn’t actually say much to that. I kind of stayed quiet, which I think was good for me because I felt like in the moment I was so angry that if I said anything, I think I’d have said something that I would’ve regretted.
“I was just really disappointed in him because he’d only seen me a handful of times, and to have such a judgment on my character was quite heavy.
“It actually made me nearly walk off the show.
“I nearly quit the show.”
But things quickly turned around for Miles as he began to take on board some of the feedback.
He said: “You start off thinking it’s a TV show then quickly realise ‘wow, I’m learning a lot about myself and it’s savage’.
“Paul and Anna are experts – they test you and take you on this really crazy journey.
“There are emotional moments and breakdowns from all the celebrities.
“A particular moment for me – probably the second most intense moment I’ve had on tv was with the agents when they re showed the moment Maeva told me she’d hooked up with my best friend.”
Tristan is hoping to meet ‘The One’ after a series of failed romances – including his most recent relationship with Olivia Bentley.
Tristan and Olivia – who originally got together in 2020 – split after a year and then got back together in 2022.
They moved in together but things turned sour and they split for good last year.
Tristan said at the time: “When you love someone and it’s raw – it hurts.
“I’m probably better at managing the fall out but I’m a very emotional person.”
