THE VILLAGERS will be left reeling after receiving a devastating health update on cancer-stricken baby Evan in Emmerdale.
Billy and Dawn were left devastated earlier this year when they were told their baby son has leukaemia.
The couple struggled to process the news and juggle protecting Evan from outside illness while in hospital and being there for their other two children, Lucas and Clemmie.
Upcoming scenes on the ITV soap will see Will worried when Dawn says she’s going to report missing Rose to the police.
Will begins to fear the worst that he and Kim are over as he fails to get in touch with her.
Will’s left reeling when Dawn tells him that Evan might need a bone marrow transplant and she needs to contact Rose.
Will’s still in shock over Dawn’s news, he’s haunted to think they need to find Rose.
Later, stealthy Will’s anxious as he retrieves Rose’s phone and listens to a voicemail from Dawn.
He tries Kim again, sick with worry.
Wracked with guilt, Will composes a message on Rose’s phone.
Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw said: “ALL is one of the most common childhood leukaemias.
“I think there’s 650 children and young adults diagnosed with that every year in the UK.”
She continued: “What we really wanted to show with this story is what a stress and strain a long-term illness like this can put on a family.
“What we’ll see is how the roles of Dawn and Billy are changed almost overnight and out of nowhere.
“We’ll see how Lucas and Clemmie are affected and the stress that it puts on those sibling dynamics.”
Also in the Dales, Charity is left guilty when she makes fun of Vinny’s inexperience compared to Gabby.
