Redditor Pleasedtomeetya shared the skincare tip in a post.

“My face is super duper oily. I have tried SO MANY things, but nothing worked,” she said.

While some products were able to tame her oily skin, she explained that she still found herself struggling.

“I would have to, at the very least, blot four or five times a day,” she said.

On a whim, she decided to try using her baby’s diaper rash cream on her face.

“One day, my daughter’s Desitin was on my makeup table,” she said.

“I put it on my T-zone and then put foundation that normally did nothing special on.”

To her shock, the cream decreased her oils dramatically.

“OMG, it worked! I’ve been doing this for about five months,” she said.

“I can go all day without having to blot even once.”

Best of all, a tube of the cream lasts her eons without much effort.

“This type of Desitin is like 40 percent zinc oxide. I only have to use the teensiest amount,” she said.

Desitin Maximum Strength Baby Diaper Rash Cream with 40% Zinc Oxide retails for $11.86 on Amazon but is currently on sale for $7.25.

Thanks to the cream’s original purpose, beauty fans raved that it also worked well to prevent skin irritation.

“I slathered this on an evil skin irritation, and the relief was magical and almost immediate,” said one reviewer.

“Be patient — this stuff is tenacious.”

“I am 67 and got a wicked rash due to the heat. A girlfriend suggested Desitin, which I thought was only for babies,” said another.

“She laughed and said she’s been using it for years. Well …. it works! It’s now taking a place of honor in my medicine cabinet.”

Others shared tricks that helped their sweaty and oily skin.

One viewer explained that under-arm deodorant was their go-to to prevent sweat.

“Not quite the same thing, but… I admit to putting antiperspirant on my forehead when I’m going to be outside in the heat,” she said.

“And also underneath my breasts. I may go to skincare hell for this, but it works really well.”

One woman said the cream was a “must” for retinol users.

“This is great for skin on [the] face, especially while using retinol,” she said.

“It made my side effects with retinol become less severe and I was able to use my retinol every other day. [It] helps with the peelings and burns with it comes to the side effects of retinol.

“This is also great for dark armpits, knees, arms, and private areas to lighten skin.”
