GOOD Morning Britain host Kate Garraway was caught on her phone live on-air as she admitted she was in the midst of a “home crisis.”
The mum of two was spotted by co-host Richard Madeley, 68, and ITV viewers alike as she tapped away on her mobile following a commercial break.
As Monday’s Good Morning Britain re-started, there was a slight delay in a link being read.
Richard called her out and said: “She’s on her phone, she’s on her phone!” before pointing to the pink device which was perched on a cradle on the desk.
Kate, 57, admitted: “I was on my phone!
“I was just dealing with a little home crisis, a little bit of, you know …
“Kids getting up to no good.
“You know what kids are like!”
Kate is mum to Billy, 15, and Darcey, 18, and told how they were asking where a particular item was in their home.
The ITV stalwart then had to tell them she was “on air” – and they would have to find whatever it was themselves.
Kate shares her brood with her late husband, Derek Draper.
Former political lobbyist Derek was left fighting for his life in hospital after suffering a heart attack over the festive period.
He tragically died aged 56 in January.
Derek was already one of the UK’s longest-suffering Covid patients, after being diagnosed in March 2020.
She paid a touching tribute to her late spouse at his funeral in February and, just days later, made her “brave” GMB return.
Meanwhile, Darcey bravely carried her father’s coffin during the emotional funeral in February – at the same venue where Kate and Derek married nearly 20 years ago.
The following month, Kate made sure to pull out all the stops for Darcey’s birthday party as Derek “would have wanted the day to be special.”
Kate enlisted the help of celeb pal Myleene Klass, 46, to organise an unforgettable day for the teen, who initially said she “didn’t want a celebration.”
There were plenty of touching nods to Derek, too, with images of the family printed out and placed around the room.
Additionally, Kate returned to GMB last week after her own father’s medical battles.
Back in July, we exclusively told how the ITV anchor rushed to be at her father’s bedside after he suffered a suspected stroke and heart attack.
Yet after giving an update on father Gordon’s health on Instagram Kate vowed to be back at the start of a fresh week – and the broadcaster lived up to her promise.
