FOUR Just Stop Oil eco-zealots were caught moments before they were allegedly due to cause disruption at an airport.
The activists were arrested when police got wind of their plans yesterday.
JSO released a photo of the quartet grinning for a selfie before they were found near Manchester Airport’s perimeter fence.
Police said they were found with items that could have been used to cause “significant disruption”.
Two were named as Kent shop worker Margaret Reid, 53, and Ella Ward, 21, who previously threw paint over buildings in Westminster.
A 30-year-old woman and 23-year-old man were also detained on suspicion of conspiring to cause a public nuisance.
They all remain in custody.
Chief Supt Mark Dexter said: “These arrests prevented a determined, targeted attack which would have brought delays and upset to hard-working people heading off on holidays.”
JSO said: “The four arrested will accept any legal consequences.”
