RELATIONSHIPS can sink or float, but Titanic fans say an Amazon buy could’ve saved Jack and Rose’s doomed fate.
Many felt vindicated by a movie-themed pool float, designed in the image of the iconic door that saved Rose’s life, saying it is proof that “Jack could have survived.”

The $35 The Original Titanic Movie Pool Float, a 48-inch by 84-inch inflatable float, put an end to the question once and for all in the eyes of die-hard fans.
Since the film debuted in 1997, people have argued about whether or not Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) could have fit on the piece of wreckage and survived if Rose (Kate Winslet) had just moved over.
The door controversy prompted James Cameron, director of the Hollywood movie, to do an experiment to settle the debate.
In the National Geographic show Titanic: 25 Years Later With James Cameron, he hired a crew of scientists to determine whether there was enough room for both Jack and Rose on the door.
To simulate the scene, a replica floating door, two stunt doubles who weighed the same as the actors, and body sensors were used.
“We put them in ice [cold] water, and we tested to see whether they could have survived through a variety of methods,” Cameron said to The Toronto Sun.
The results of the experiment, Cameron said, revealed that “there was no way they both could have survived.”
The door, he explained, could’ve temporarily supported Jack for just enough time “until a lifeboat got there,” but the scenario didn’t fit into his vision for the movie.
“It’s like Romeo and Juliet. It’s a movie about love and sacrifice and mortality. The love is measured by the sacrifice,” he said.
Dedicated Titanic fans, however, felt that the Titanic-themed pool float could’ve been the couple’s saving grace, had they had it.
“Finally, a door that can fit two! Let me start by saying I’ve never felt so emotionally supported by an inflatable object,” wrote one passionate reviewer.
“As a die-hard Titanic fan, the wooden door scene has always haunted me. ‘Could two people fit?!’ I’ve lost sleep, friends, and even a pet goldfish named Leo over this conundrum.

The Amazon shopper added that the “assembly was a breeze.”
“Just a few puffs of air, and you’re ready to recreate the most debated cinematic moment of all time,” they said.

Others agreed that the purchase went down easily — not just on their wallets, but also with friends and family.
“Jack could’ve survived! [The] first thing we did after receiving it was hop in the pool. This fits two adults and a toddler easily,” said another reviewer.
“This was a gift for a friend who was throwing a pool party. It was a hit, and everyone wanted to see if they could fit on it,” someone else shared.
“I am a huge Titanic fan, and I bought this instantly upon seeing it. Yes, Jack could have fit. But the question is, with the waves [and] buoyancy, would it work? Oh well, my heart will go on,” joked a third.
