Parents blast ‘HOW could they not notice this’ after spotting Asda’s mistake on Disney PJs – would you see the error?

Occasional Digest - a story for you

ASDA drove customers into laughing fits after they noticed the typo of a popular Disney character on their kid’s clothing range.

The supermarket chain had an absolute car crash while trying to spell Lightning Mcqueen, from the blockbuster Cars franchise, on their range of pyjamas, which have been rolled out nationwide.

Instead, the popular pj’s read “Lightening Mcqueen”, fuelling jokes at the expense of the supermarket on TikTok.

One customer, 29-year-old Kate Abi, who purchased the pj’s for her son Leo at an Asda in Derby, posted them on the social media site thinking they were a steal, after she grabbed three sets for £15.

But users were quick to flood her comments section, telling her they opted not to buy the set because of the spelling error, which she quickly noticed.

She told The Sun: “I uploaded a video on TikTok saying mums should go and buy it – I thought it was quite a bargain for Lightning McQueen stuff.

“Then I started seeing comments saying ‘I didn’t get it because it was misspelt.’”

Kate posted her reaction on TikTok after realising the mistake and tagged the retailer in the video.

She said: “Asda what are you doing?

“There’s not an E in it.

“Surely the people that do design for companies are like fresh out of uni?”

But she told The Sun that her little one isn’t phased by the apparent typo.

I’ve found the most phenomenal dress from Asda and a PJ set that is too good not to wear out – it’s perfect for summer

“My son is three so he’s not bothered, but I thought, how can they not notice this?

“Loads of people were saying loads of brands had misspelt.

“Asda’s not said anything – they’ve just stayed quiet.”

The Midlands-based office worker has said some viewers have been leaving their own theories about why the store made the typo in her comments section.

The mum-of-one said: “A lot of people were having arguments about it.

“Someone said the lighting [typo] has to do with your uterus.

“But I’m glad I uploaded the video though, it is what it is.”

However, she noted that the whole encounter would leave her in spellcheck mode for future purchases.

She said: “It’s all I’ll notice when I go out and buy something.”

The Sun has approached Asda for comment.

It comes after shoppers have only just realised they can get 5kg of fruit and veg from Lidl for £1.50

And Asda has issued an urgent warning for shoppers to avoid losing money.
