A 16-second clip, which seemed to be taken by a customer, was shared on X, formerly Twitter.

It showed a grey-haired man in black attire appearing to load a large laundry bag with Greggs products.

After supposedly raiding one shelf, he then can be seen grabbing sandwiches and filled rolls from a fridge unit.

Others shoppers watch on bemused but nobody tried to stop him in the viral video.

The footage posted by London and UK Street News now has more than 370,000 views.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said nothing had been reported for that location.

The Sun has contacted Greggs for comment.

It comes as Greggs armed staff with body cameras after a surge in thieving sausage roll scoffers and attacks.

The chain rolled out clip-on recorders in a bid to halt crooks pinching stock from their shelves.

The cameras can record for 90 minutes and are activated by staff if they have to face confrontation.

It is understood the tech is being trialled in some of the takeaway brand’s busiest stores.

A sign in Greggs’ London Bridge station branch said they were “Keeping Everyone Safe”.

It read: “To ensure the safety of our customers and colleagues, we’re trialling body-worn cameras in this shop.

“Audio and video will be recorded.”

A source told The Sun: “The cameras were introduced as staff were getting worried they could be attacked.

“Everyone’s noticed there’s more shoplifting. If it was filmed on a bodycam there’s more of a chance they would be put off trying.”

But another worker added: “They don’t really do much because they take five seconds to power up and start recording.

“By the time you’ve got it on, the thieves are gone.”
