With kick-off at 8pm, some schools realise this will be way beyond bedtime for many young pupils.

To allow youngsters the chance to enjoy watching Gareth Southgate’s men give it their all to bring it home, a handful of headteachers will delay the register.

Moor End Community Primary School, Oswaldtwistle

The beloved Lancashire primary school will be keeping register open until 10am.

However, the premises will be open from normal, as staff are unfortunately still expected to pitch up on time.

If England do win, pupils are allowed to come in wearing red or white, or an England shirt.

A spokesperson said: “On Sunday, I’m aware a lot of children will be having a late night watching the football. Because of this, I’ve made the decision to have a slow start for the registers on Monday morning.

“If coming after 9am, they will need to come through the main reception as the gates will still be locked.

“As the children came into school yesterday singing, fingers crossed, It’s coming home!”

But, those who arrive any time after this will be marked down as late.

The school will be open from the usual time for any students and parents who require it.

And, their breakfast club will be operating as usual from the regular hour.

“In order for our children to have a good sleep and start their final week refreshed, the registers will be open until 10.30am on Monday.”

Mount Carmel Roman Catholic High School, Accrington

Pupils at Mount Carmel Roman Catholic High School have been treated to a glorious 11.am start – that most working adults up and down the country can only dream of.

A spokesperson said: “In order that everyone can enjoy watching the football on Sunday (and hopefully celebrate a win), school will start on Monday at the later time of 11.00am for all pupils.

“Pupils must wear school uniform and breakfast will be available in the diner from 10.00am.

“Pupils will finish at 3.00pm as usual. Pupils who use the school bus will need to make alternative arrangements in the morning.

“If your child is on the Y10 Blackpool trip they need to arrive at school by 9.30am and do not need to wear school uniform. The coach will leave school at 10.00am and return to school at 6.30pm.”
