DUMPED Love Island star Hugo Godfroy has performed a major U-turn when it comes to his feelings towards Jess White.
The couple were both sent packing from the villa last night along with Emma Milton and Blade Siddiqi.
Ahead of his departure, Hugo confided in Ayo Odukoya that he was bored of Jess.
However, in his exit interview he expressed regret at that conversation and insisted he wants to pursue things with Jess back in the UK.
He said: “Going into Casa I had my eye on two girls – Jess and Matilda. As soon as I got in there I got on with Jess so well, we clicked immediately and things went from strength to strength.
“Things with Matilda were going alright but Jess was my main focus, she was who I was drawn to. Moving through the process things were so good with Jess, I got in my own head a bit as on the outside I’m so used to there being teething issues. It was me majorly overthinking.
“I regret saying some of the things I did say to Ayo because it was blown out of proportion in my own head. I’ve cleared it up with Jess, voiced it and we’ve picked up where we left off, which is great.
“I think we were moving a bit quick at the time, we were talking about things on the outside which was maybe a bit too soon.
“I can’t wait to go on a nice date now we’re out, she’s such a nice girl, I can’t fault her and I’m looking forward to seeing where things go.”
It seems Jess is on the same wavelength and hasn’t taken his criticism of their in-villa romance to heart.
She said: “It’s very early days but from the moment I saw him I knew he was exactly what I’d been waiting for. I’m one of those people who knows what I want from the offset, I’m very honest, maybe sometimes too honest which is why I didn’t want to force things with the other boys, but patience paid off and I’m glad I met Hugo.
“It took me a long time to find a connection but I’m so glad I did. I’m looking forward to us continuing things on the outside and he did say he likes Manchester, so you never know.
“It’s exciting times ahead for us, we aren’t putting pressure on it, but I’m looking forward to carrying on what we had in the villa.”
Hugo might still have questions to answer if and when Jess decides to watch the final episode back.
During the show, Hugo told Ayo: “I just feel like maybe the way things are going with me and Jess, I dunno I feel like there should be more. I feel like the conversation is just a bit dry…
“It feels like, and it’s a harsh way to put it, but it’s like a boredom thing… there is sexual chemistry, but there’s something missing.”
Ayo tried to reassure him, responding: “You’ve been yourself, she loves that. You can’t help that.”
Jess coupled up with Hugo during Casa Amor, but it wasn’t plain-sailing because he also hit it off with Matilda Draper.
Jess was left furious when she saw them both chatting and raged: “I’m fuming at her. She can see how happy I am for the first time in ages. She’s got someone back there anyway.
“Why is she trying to get involved in something?!”
In the end, Hugo stuck with Jess, and Matilda returned to the villa with Sean Stone.
