SAINSBURY’S have slashed the price of a £6 posh ready meal to just 10p.

Shoppers were left stunned after one punter revealed her bargain buy from the popular supermarket.

If the cost-of-living crisis has meant that you are on a budget when it comes to food, then you’ll need to check this out.

The shopper, posting under the name Heidi, managed to nab a Charlie Bingham’s slow-cooked beef and pork ragu lasagne for pennies.

The meal in question was bought at her local Doncaster Sainsbury’s before the best before date.

Thrilled with her finds, Heidi quickly took to social media to alert other shoppers of her 10p bargain.

Her post on the Yellow sticker shopping tips, tricks and hauls group read: “Best buy tonight, decided not to buy at £2.39.

“Store was so quiet that nobody was about when final reductions were made and picked up this beauty for 10p.”

Viewers were quick to weigh in with their opinions in the comments section.

A Facebook user claimed it was “one of the best yellow stickers finds ever” and praised Heidi.

One wrote: “Wow that’s amazing even at £2 but such amaze balls at 10p.”

A second commented: “Well done! I love gambling like that.

“You know when you see a heap of things you’re sure something good is going to come down further in price later?

“I’ve never got anything that good though!”

Meanwhile, a third said: “Best lasagne, they’re lovely!”

“Mmm, one of my favourite foods, fantastic price!” said a fourth.

Recently, we saw shoppers go wild as they stocked up on yellow sticker buys that had been slashed to just 10p each in Sainsbury’s.

From pizza and cakes to packs of chicken, bargain hunters went wild at the incredible discounts from the popular chain. 

One savvy shopper also got his hands on a huge haul of 10p food.

Thrilled with his finds, Kulbir Singh Rana took to social media to alert other shoppers. 

Previously, we saw a man clear the shelves when he spotted a bargain in Co-op, leading trolls to hail him ‘greedy’.

When do supermarkets put out yellow-sticker bargains?

The time supermarkets reduce their products vary across stores.

Here’s a rough supermarket-by-supermarket guide:

Aldi

Aldi uses a red sticker to show reductions on fresh products such as bread, meat, fruit and vegetables.

This is when they have reached the last day of shelf life.

Red stickered items are most commonly found at opening and closing times.

M&S

Reduction times can vary from store to store but is most likely to occur near closing time.

Asda

Asda told Which? that yellow stickers are applied twice a day – in the morning and evening.

Co-op

Co-op told The Sun its reduced-to-clear prices are generally applied about four hours before the store closes.

Lidl

Lidl has a similar procedure to Asda and Aldi with reductions twice a day.

However individual stores may opt to reduce prices throughout the day.

Morrisons

Shoppers online have said that Morrisons does the best bargains first thing in the morning.

However, the store told Which? that there are no specific times for yellow sticker price cuts.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s told The Sun it’s at the store manager’s discretion whether to offer discounts.

However, shoppers have reported that the best deals are in the evening from 6pm.

Tesco

Tesco has said there is no specific time for reduction, but again most people found that prices were reduced from 6pm.

Waitrose

As with most of the other stores, Waitrose shoppers have said the best reductions are found before closing.

However, the store stated that there is no specific time for yellow stickers to be applied.

But with Kulbir’s shop, social media users were left impressed at his cheap buys and many took to the comments to congratulate him on his finds. 

Not only were many stunned to see such “bargains”, but others hailed his haul as “mental” and claimed that he should “frame” the receipt.

It comes as a bargain £3 meal deal has been launched with a lesser-known supermarket – taking it up to the big dogs.

Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Boots all offer the famed main-snack-drink bundle for prices ranging from £3.50-£4, but now a new player is shaking things up.
