Popular Facebook group, Newfoodsuk, posted a snap of a Garlic & Herb Grated Cheese Blend and it whipped the internet into a frenzy.

The picture was captioned: “First time trying this cheese from Asda and omg, it’s amazing,” and it racked up a whopping 6,000 comments and 5,700 likes.

The comments section was filled by excited cheese fanatics.

One person reckoned: “Could make nice garlic bread with this”, while another wrote: “This is actually amazing”.

A third added: “Now this sounds delish” and a fourth tagged a friend and said: “Made my mouth water seeing this.”

Asda describes the product as: “Herby and flavourful, perfect for scattering on toast or a jacket potato. Suitable for vegetarians.”

Despite the excitement, one Facebook user thought they could make the cheese at home.

The wrote: “It’s Cheddar cheese with garlic and herb seasoning in it  and it’s a smaller packet than the normal cheese for the same price!”

A 250g pack of cheddar cheese from Asda costs £2.50 but the new herby version is the same price for a 200g packet.

The new cheese can be ordered on the ASDA website or can be brought in store.

It comes as last year, we saw children and their parents go wild for Squishmallows – the soft and spongy toys that were sold in millions.

They were a trend to be reckoned with, but now, shoppers are legging it to their nearest Asda, desperate to get their hands on the latest Squishmallow range.

So if you’re a fan of The Lion King, you’ll need to prepare yourself.

Last year, more than £100 million of the colourful creatures were snapped up worldwide, with sales soaring by 11 per cent in the UK.

Even Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian are fans of the range, which includes mythical creatures such as Ace The Unicorn, vegetables and branded editions including Harry PotterStar Wars and CoComelon.
