Raducanu 6-2 3-1 Sakkari*

Sakkari looks out of sorts now, and drops a forehand wide for 15-0. Another then fails to find the target, 30-0.

This time the Greek does find her target, striking a lovely forehand winner for 30-15. Raducanu double faults… but then challenges the call – but she did miss – 30-30.

Raducanu just tries to be a little too elaborate there, missing a difficult drop shot and it’s 30-40 – break point. She saves it with an excellent forehand winner, deuce.

A brilliant return by Sakkari forces a Raducanu miss, and it’s advantage the Greek. But the Brit drops a serve bang on the line for an ace, back to deuce.

Raducanu serves out wide and Sakkari returns long – advantage Emma. The Greek then gets a fortunate bounce off the net, deuce once more… this feels like a huge game.

The Brit lets out another roar as a big serve sets her back to game point. And a Sakkari return drifts wide, 3-1.

A sensational return from Raducanu to begin the game, with Sakkari having no chance of getting it back, 0-15.

The Brit then swats back a weak second serve for a clean backhand winner, 0-30. Sakkari is getting frustrated. Raducanu takes a big swing at another return but fires long, 15-30.

Sakkari nets a backhand to bring up yet more break points, 15-40. A forehand by the Greek flies long and Raducanu leads by a set and a break.

A Sakkari return drifts long, 15-0. Raducanu is then left prone after a little slip, with her opponent taking advantage for 15-15.

Sakkari produces a sensational return up the line for 15-30. But a return flies wide and Raducanu is level at 30-30.

The Greek then dumps a second serve return into the net, 40-30. And it’s game, Raducanu as Sakkari nets again.

Sakkari dictates with a big forehand, 15-0. She then double faults yet again, 15-15. A beautiful backhand winner down the line puts the Greek up 30-15. A sumptuous volley brings up game points, 40-15.

The ninth seed wins a solid game with an unreturnable serve.

So Emma Raducanu steps up to serve for the first set… but a super forehand winner by Sakkari makes it 0-15.

A big serve out wide by Raducanu makes it 15-15. The Brit tries to dig herself out of a hole again, but this time can’t find a miracle lob, 15-30.

The hometown hero then benefits from a lucky bounce off the net to get back to 30-30, that’ll sting Sakkari. Raducanu double faults to bring up a break point, 30-40.

She then lets out a roar as Sakkari fails to get her serve back, deuce. Raducanu then drops a backhand long under pressure, advantage the Greek.

Raducanu then fist pumps and roars again as a serve and huge forehand combo save another break point, back to deuce. Sakkari nets a return to bring up the Brit’s first set point.

She then takes it! Sakkari shanking a return… what a performance so far from Emma Raducanu!

Sakkari double faults to open the game, 0-15. A missed Raducani return then makes it 15-15. The Greek nets another forehand, 15-30.

She then strikes a forehand winner for 30-30. Another Sakkari doub;e fault brings up a break point, 30-40.

Raducanu then lobs Sakkari to somehow win a point she looked like she had to right to, and breaks again!
