Swansea City striker Jerry Yates is set to join Championship rivals Derby County on a season long loan.

The Swans signed Yates last summer on a three year deal from Blackpool for an undisclosed fee, believed to have been around £2.5m.

The 27-year-old forward, who began his career with Rotherham United, scored eight league goals in 24 starts and 19 substitute appearances for Swansea.

He finished joint top scorer alongside Bournemouth loanee Jamal Lowe with nine goals in all competitions.

Derby, who were promoted after finishing second behind League One winners Portsmouth last term, are expected to complete the deal in the next few days.

Fellow Championship clubs Blackburn Rovers, Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City have also reportedly been keen on Yates.

It is understood Swansea are working hard to strengthen their front line resources for head coach Luke Williams.

The Welsh club have been linked with South Korea international winger Eom Ji-Sung, of K-League side Gwangju.

Reports in Korea suggest Swansea have lodged a bid with Gwangju of around £800,000 for the once-capped player, who netted against Iceland on his international bow in January 2022.
