Commenting on a Reddit post, user WolfDragonStarlit revealed her favorite makeup buys from her time as a chef.

She explained how she sought out products that would hold up in the hot environment.

“I did two years in a kitchen, so high heat, steam, dishpit, muggy as f**k, dry heat from a grill trying to broil off my face makeup,” the poster wrote.

The Redditor added that she also had to find items that held up with the watery eyes she got from chopping “five-gallon buckets worth of onions on a regular basis.”

For smudge-proof eyes, she applied the $8 Milani Eye Primer before using the $47 Tarte Tartelette In Bloom, which she said she has bought three times.

The poster said she finished her stay-put eye makeup with either the $9 Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara or the $10 L’Oréal Paris Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara.

For her skin primer, the former kitchen worker swears by the $10 Elf Poreless Putty Primer.

She also applied the $15 CeraVe Daytime Lotion with SPF 30 before every shift.

“I could walk into work, rain, snow, blazing sun, and my makeup would be fine.”

She added that her winter walks to work were cold enough to “freeze off” her makeup but her favorite products survived the harsh conditions.

The food service worker even received compliments for her makeup look.

“I constantly had customers asking what I was wearing or how I managed my face because it always looked good,” she said.
