A TikTok user Storytimelondon has shared where to find a quiet seating area in the airport that’s free of throngs of travellers.

The hidden gem can be found just a stone throw away from the main departure lounge inside Stansted Airport.

If you’d like some peace and quiet away from other passengers, follow the steps to the mezzanine level below.

The staircase, lift or escalators should be close to the Windmill restaurant which would take you to the silent paradise.

The area is clearly signed and is made for holidaymakers who want to step away from the hustle and bustle of the shops and restaurants.

Compared to the main lounge, the area boasts dozens of available seats and plug sockets without any noise.

London Stansted Airport is one of the busiest airports in the UK with over 28.5million passengers passing through in a year, according to the official website.

So it is no wonder that spare seats have become a scarce commodity.

Yet hidden gems in travel hubs like this can help avoid the masses and have a more relaxing wait for your flight.

But while you wait for boarding, there are seven common mistakes you might be making at the airport that will cost you money that could have been better spent.

A former flight attendant has now shared inside information on how to avoid forking out the cash unnecessarily – and it might surprise you.

And if you are returning home, you might want to avoid huge queues after a long flight with this little known pass that could let you skip queues entirely.

While fast passes are commonly used when arriving for a flight, which can speed up getting through departures, some airports also have arrival passes.

This means you can skip the long queues at passport control.

Just six airports in the UK offer the service, and each vary in price.

To make your journey smoother, we have also explained how you should be preparing for your flights this summer.

There’s been a lot of news lately about new liquid rules at airports in the UK.

On the face of it, it sounds great and we’re all looking forward to the day when we can fly without having to squeeze all our liquids into tiny plastic see-through cases.

But for the time being, it’s just causing problems and confusion.

Another problem caused by the rule change is huge airport queues, particularly at Birmingham, which is a worrying sign considering we aren’t yet at the peak of summer travel.

Some passengers have been seen queuing for as much as two hours before their flights, with the confusion around the liquid rules leading to huge meandering airport lines.
