The 70-year-old had to be put on a drip as her condition was serious, co-presenter Gayle King revealed on air.
Explaining her absence on the CBS Mornings show, she said Oprah was suffering from a gastric issue — before going into eye-watering detail.
She continued: “Needless to say, she ended up in the hospital, dehydration, she had an IV, so it was a very serious thing.”
Gayle, 69, went on: “I hope she’s not mad at me for sharing that detail.”
Asked about her current state of health, she added: “She will be OK.”
It recently emerged that Oprah had used weight-loss drug Ozempic.
She said her size “occupied five decades of space in my brain, yo-yoing and feeling like why can’t I just conquer this thing?”
In 2023, Oprah Winfrey spoke about her weight loss meds use.
“I had an awareness of weight-loss medications, but felt I had to prove I had the willpower to do it. I now no longer feel that way,” she told People.
“I was actually recommending it to people long before I was on it myself,” she added.
Oprah referred to Ozempic as a “maintenance tool.”
