It was connected to the tiny bin used to hold paper towels once passengers are done with them.

The Deal or No Deal host, 46, said he hated touching them on a video posted to Instagram.

Incredibly, he stumbled across a foot pedal which would allow him to open the bin without getting his hands dirty.

He filmed the inside of the small airplane bathroom – showing fans how to do it themselves.

During the clip he said in awe: “Surely I’m not the only person who just learnt about this?

“The bin is always full for me and I hate touching the bin.

“Did you know about it?”

If you’re not fussed by the bathrooms onboard your summertime flights, but want to bag a great seat, this hack might be for you.

Having to get up for constant bathroom-goers can be a drag if you’re stuck in an aisle seat – although many love them for their extra room.

But if you’re on a plane with three rows of seats, an aisle seat from the middle section reduces that chance by 50 per cent.

A savvy flyer said: “If you’re an “aisle” type person (as opposed to window), and your plane has a middle section of seats (e.g. a 3-5-3 or 2-3-2 configuration), choose the aisle seat of the middle section rather than the outer section.”

“You’re less likely to have someone book a middle seat next to you on a 3-5-3, and if it’s a 2-3-2.

“There’s only a 50 per cent chance they’ll go through you to get to the bathroom (since they may also choose to go the other direction).”

And if you find yourself particularly thirsty during a long-haul flight, you can try this trick to get three free beverages instead of one.

Tiktoker Ali Spagnola (@alispagnola), shared a video explaining that by ordering an Irish coffee, passengers will end up with a coffee, a whisky and a Bailey’s instead of just one drink.

She said: “Here’s a hack to get three drinks on an airplane when they usually only serve one.

“Order just one Irish coffee. That’s Bailey’s, whisky and coffee. Cheers!”

Some people did think the hack was a clever one and suggested they’d be trying it next time they flew, with one saying: “Genius! Plus great taste!”
