As reported by the MSE, properties across much of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are entitled to free insulation and water-saving gadgets.

They include shower heads, which help regulate water usage, and usually cost around £20.

Brits could also be offered tap inserts which again regulate water flow, and are normally from £5.

Another big saver is water butts, which gather rain water for gardening, and can be a steep £20.

Cheaper items such as garden hose nozzles and shower timers may also be up for grabs and help pocket a few extra quid.

The Energy Saving Trust suggested that replacing an inefficient shower head could reduce a family-of-four’s gas and water bill by £30 each, per annum.

According to the Money Saving Experts, one of each gadget can be handed out per household.

It will depend on what water company you’re with, and where you live.

This is managed by water efficiency company Save Water Save Money.
