Youngsters aged five and up can create a toy rocket ship, an alien, astronaut and a mini solar system – including Mars, Earth, the Sun and Saturn.

The description on the supermarket‘s website reads: “LEGO Classic creative building toys are filled with ideas and inspiration and let parents share building fun and developmental milestones with their kids.

“This space toys set, featuring a model rocket and planets, makes a great creative gift for boys and girls.”

Down from £25, parents are rushing to secure the bargain.

One wrote on Facebook: “Wow that’s so good. My son is LEGO mad.”

Another said: “Got mine today, I have one happy boy.”

Meanwhile, others begged their pals to get them one if they were in Asda.

A desperate mum told her friend: “Get me one if you see them at Asda.”

A second said: “If any of you go to Asda and see this will you pick me one up please?”

The price cuts come days after Toys r Us announced they would be making a comeback.

A total of 30 stores will be up and running by August, bosses confirmed to The Sun.

Toys R Us initially vanished from the UK in 2018 after falling into administration.

The retailer was a beloved part of many Brits’ childhoods before being wound up, leaving more than 2,000 workers redundant.

Last year, though, parent company WHSmith successfully relaunched the brand.

It opened nine locations in 2023 and is targeting almost double that number this year.

The process began in York with a location popping back up in the Monks Cross Retail Park in June.

Since then, branches have been added in Oxford, Chelmsford, Solihull and Cwmbran among others.

Now, three new sites will open today in Hereford, Leamington Spa and Leicester.
