Daisy, who is known for playing Kim Butterfield in Hollyoaks, had a lead role in Bonnie & Clyde The Musical but the show has been cut short “with immediate effect”.
The actress was sharing the part of Blanche Barrow with Catherine Tyldesley and the production had been due to run in the UK and Ireland until October.
But on Monday, it was axed with just hours before the cast were due to take to the stage for a five-night run at Southend’s Cliffs Pavillion.
Daisy has now hit out and insisted that the stars of the show and the backstage crew “did not deserve this”.
Writing on Instagram, the actress said: “Absolutely devastated.
“This industry pulls some horrendous punches. I have had the time of my life the last few weeks.
“Sending love to the whole Bonnie & Clyde team. We did not deserve this.”
Daisy wrote her message alongside the official announcement about Bonnie & Clyde The Musical being pulled.
The message read: “Bonnie & Clyde The Musical will conclude its UK & Ireland tour with immediate effect.
“We would like to thank the extremely hard working and endlessly talented cast and company that have entertained thousands of audience members across the country with this production.
“Ticket holders will be contacted by their point of purchase shortly with further information.”
Many theatre-goers had arranged transport and accommodation for Monday night’s show, which was cancelled at the eleventh hour.
One fan wrote online: “A disgraceful decision to do this half way through a tour & just hours before a show in which people have travelled for.
“Just play out the rest of the shows, pay your talented cast and call it a loss then. Your producers shouldn’t be allowed to lead any show or tour again.”
Another added: “You used the word ‘conclude’ when you should be using ‘cancelled’.
“A disgraceful decision just a few hours before a run of shows in Southend which people have already travelled to.
“Well done to your producers for ruining a great show with a cult following that’ll now be lost.”
Former Coronation Street star Catherine is yet to comment publicly on the news of Bonnie & Clyde being axed.
But only last week she had told her fans how much she had been enjoying starring in the show.
Alongside a snap of herself in character, Catherine had penned: “Where do I start!!!? These past few months playing #BlancheBarrow in @bonnieclydeldn have been incredible.
“WHAT a show! WHAT a cast!! What a journey!!
“I’m off to go filming for a few months. But I’ll be rejoining the tour later down the line!
“The show is incredible and the cast are phenomenal! Book now if you haven’t already!
“THANK YOU for all of your messages/ cards/ flowers / wonrderful reviews. I am grateful beyond words. Now…back to sea!”
Catherine is currently in Malta filming for the second series of The Good Ship Murder.
The Channel 5 drama, which also stars Shane Ward, has been recommissioned for a second and third series.
