Nicholas Galitzine stars in Mary & George, which recently premiered on Sky Atlantic.

The series is based on a true story and set in the 1600s, with Julianne Moore playing Mary Villiers, the Countess of Buckingham, and Nicholas as her son, George.

In the show, Mary urges her son to seduce King James I of England to gain power – and the drama features numerous hot and heavy orgies.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Nicholas says things were so full-on that he had to film multiple sizzling scenes a day.

“There was one day where we did about four sex scenes in one day,” he said.

“I was going from room to room meeting strangers and saying, ‘Hi, I am Nick, nice to meet you. OK, this is the position we’re going to be in’.”

Nicholas even revealed the cast had an “intimacy coordinator” to help them with the kinky scenes.

He added: “We had such a wonderful intimacy coordinator, and for the day players who came in for these singular scenes, I hope I made them feel comfortable. But I’m so proud of all that work that we did together.”

Based on the non-fiction book The King’s Assassin, Mary & George sees Mary thrust her young son George, known to be beautiful and charismatic, into the spotlight.

She tasks him with pursuing and seducing the King to climb the social ladder, as their family struggles for money and status, and to make himself one of the most powerful men in England.

‘Unbearable!’ fume Bridgerton fans as they blast Netflix for ‘sick’ cliffhanger ending to first season three episodes

But once at the top, the drama follows as the bloody game to stay in the King’s favour unfolds.

The series premiered on Sky Atlantic in March but fans were already onboard before it even dropped.

After watching the trailer, one gushed: “It’s only a teaser trailer and he’s with three different men already?! Love this for me.”

Another joked: “Please check on your gay Nicholas Galitzine obsessed friends today. We are not okay.”

Why is Bridgerton still so popular?

By deputy TV editor, Felicity Cross

WHEN Bridgerton landed during lockdown, it swept us all into a world of bejewelled gowns, lavish balls and endless bonking – and the world went mad for it.
Even the sexless second series didn’t damp down TV viewers’ lust for the Regency romp and fans have eagerly anticipated the arrival of the third series.
And they won’t be disappointed.
The opener finally gives us some action from gorgeous series two newlyweds Anthony and Kate in scenes that would make your granny blush.
There’s drama and intrigue as the hunt for Lady Whistledown hots us, and laugh out loud comedy from the chaotic Featherington family.
But ultimately the season belongs to new romantic leads Colin and Penelope, whose will-they-won’t-they love story is fun, flirty and utterly believable and its, ahem, climax at the end of episode four will take your breath away.
Is Bridgerton still must-watch telly? Corset is.

Meanwhile, the hotly-anticipated new series of Bridgerton hit Netflix last week.

But the streaming giant is airing the series in two parts and, so far, only four episodes have dropped – and the fourth featured a massive cliffhanger.

Fans are furious that they now have to wait until June 13 to find out how the cliffhanger is resolved.
