BILLIONAIRE Sir Jim Ratcliffe yesterday blasted the Tories for failing to crack down on immigration after Brexit.

The chemicals mogul and Man United part-owner was a prominent supporter of leaving the European bloc.

But speaking to Sky News, he insisted the move “didn’t turn out how people anticipated” as the referendum “was largely about immigration“.

The businessman also criticised the Tories over their handling of the economy, saying the country needed to “get a bit sharper on the business front” and needs “competitive energy”.

On Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, Sir Jim said he had “no questions” he would do a “very good job at running the country”.

Sir Jim met with the Labour boss at Old Trafford last weekend to discuss the redevelopment of the stadium.

But when asked whether his global chemicals company Ineo would donate to Labour, he said: “We’re apolitical at Ineos, we just want a successful manufacturing sector in the UK.

“We’ll talk to either Government about that.”

The Sun reported this week on how Ratcliffe saw his fortune DROP by £6BILLION in the Sunday Times Rich List.

The petrochemicals billionaire was the biggest loser on the list’s top ten this year.

Sir Jim was second and worth just shy of £30bn in the 2023 list.

However, this year, he has fallen down to fourth in the overall list.

But he still has a handsome net worth of £23.519bn.
