But while some ideas, like a fancy meal out or a staycation, can cost a small fortune, there are still loads of ideas that don’t cost a penny.

Luckily, one expert has told how there are many incredible romantic date ideas for you and your partner to enjoy this summer that won’t break the bank.

Matt Jones, the CEO of WonderDays, revealed his top five free ideas for a completely unique date in the warm weather.

And you might be surprised at how easy they can be to plan.

A romantic picnic in the park

It might seem old school, but you can’t go wrong with a romantic picnic in the park with some good food, incredible views and great company.

Matt says: “Pack a basket with delicious treats, a cosy blanket, and a bottle of wine, then head to a nearby park for a romantic picnic.

“Surrounded by nature’s beauty, you can enjoy each other’s company in a serene setting, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.”

Stargazing under the night sky

This is the ultimate rom-com movie date idea that won’t cost a fortune, but it might require a bit of research in advance.

Find a secluded spot away from city lights, bring along a blanket and just gaze up at the stars together.

Matt explains: “The vastness of the night sky creates a sense of wonder and awe.

“It provides the perfect backdrop for heartfelt conversations and quiet moments of reflection.”

Cook a gourmet dinner together at home

Instead of splashing out a fortune for a meal in a restaurant, why not make one together at home?

If you’ve already got food in the fridge then it’ll cost next to nothing – plus you’ll probably have more fun in the process.

The experts say: “Turn your kitchen into a culinary retreat by cooking a gourmet dinner together.

“Choose a new recipe to try or recreate an old favourite, working together to prepare a delicious meal.

“Cooking together fosters collaboration and teamwork while allowing you to savour the satisfaction of creating something special together.”

Exploring a local museum or art gallery

If you don’t fancy staying at home, then maybe this one is for you.

Matt explains that local museums, which often have free entry, can be just as romantic as a night out together.

You can both expand your horizons and indulge your artistic side by as you wander hand in hand through the exhibits, discussing your favourite pieces and sharing your interpretations.

Appreciating art together can also spark stimulating conversations and deepen your connection through shared experiences.

Matt recommends: “Look online for any special or temporary exhibitions in your area – or have a day out in a nearby city where you are bound to find an exhibition that takes your fancy.”

MAKE IT LAST

A DATING expert has revealed her six top tips on how to make your relationship last.

Dating guru Michelle Elman says:

  • Be real – When it comes to making a lasting relationship it’s key to share your everyday self, not your best self.
  • Don’t assume – If you are wondering if you are official, if they have lost interest or worrying about why they aren’t texting you, just ask rather than hanging about torturing yourself. You won’t know the truth unless you ask.
  • Show some nerve – If you are nervous when you meet a potential partner, just say you are. Trying to hide your nerves takes more energy and will make you appear more awkward than just admitting you are nervous.
  • Make mistakes – Don’t go out looking for perfection on a first date, give people the grace to stupid things — and you can too. You are allowed to be human. And if the relationship does last, it gives you a great story to tell too.
  • Give it time – You don’t have to like them to go on a date, you just need to be curious. Sometimes you are unsure about how you feel about a person and that’s OK. Give yourself the permission to take your time.
  • Ghost-busting – If you aren’t interested, communicate that — let’s bring ghosting to an end.

Enjoying a sunset walk along the beach or riverfront

There’s something undeniably romantic about watching the sun dip below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the landscape.

So it’s no wonder that Matt recommends taking a leisurely stroll along the beach or riverfront as the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant colours.

He explains that allowing the tranquillity of the moment to wash over you can feel amazing, as you soak in the beauty of nature and each other’s company.

Matt also shares a top tip on how to make the most of your date.

He says: “To create a truly memorable and intimate experience, unplug from your mobile devices for the evening and fully immerse yourselves in the present moment and each other.

“Focus on meaningful conversation, actively listening to each other’s thoughts and feelings.

“Express appreciation for each other, and acknowledge the love and support that strengthens your relationship.

‘Prioritising regular date nights is a great way to cultivate a lasting romantic relationship, so go ahead and take time out for each other this summer”.
