Occasional Digest - a story for you

WE’VE all raided our partner’s wardrobe from time to time, but would you be brave enough to try on kids’ clothes?

If you are a petite girly like Arlene Gill, you might want to try the influencer’s fashion hack.

Better known on social media as @girlyinspo, the content creator finds the best petite styles the high street has to offer.

While most of us will stick to the women’s section only, this TikTok star isn’t afraid of raiding the kids section to get the perfect fit – and save some money.

In fact, she recently hit the jackpot when she found the Pure Cotton Striped Wide Leg Jumpsuit in her local M&S.

Designed for six to fourteen year olds, this playsuit has delicate pinstripes on an ivory background –  which can easily be dressed up or down.

With its round neckline and wide leg design, the jumpsuit is also super comfy even when you wear it all day.

The fabric is pure cotton so even as temperatures rise, this content creator will keep cool.

Needless to say, Arlene is obsessed with this fashion find.

Taking to TikTok, she showed just how versatile the piece was and styled it in three different ways (yes, you read that right).

Posing in the jumpsuit, she initially paired it with a classic black blazer as well as a matching black belt and sandals for an effortlessly chic work look.

If you wanted a more relaxed vibe, you could do as the petite influencer did and pair the jumpsuit with a cosy cardigan – perfect for running errands in.

The TikTok star even added a pop of colour with bright red Birkenstocks and a Lulu Guinness handbag that had similar hues.

In her final look, she settled on a monochromatic look layering a bold emerald green cardigan and bag with the M&S buy.

And if the weather really warms up, you could just wear this summer essential with sandals for the ultimate chilled out look.

If you are tempted to try one Arlene’s many looks, the M&S jumpsuit is still available in the kids’ section online – for £23 (27 euro).

Due to it’s timeless design though, the jumpsuit has nearly sold out and as there are limited sizes left – so you might be better off leaving this one to the kids.

If you are still searching for the perfect petite jumpsuit, we suggest trying on the Linen Rich Wide Leg Cropped Jumpsuit which comes in various sizes and lengths.

Coming in blue or black, these comfy playsuits might be the perfect addition to summer wardrobe for just £45.

Why Everyone Is Loving M&S

Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale revealed to Fabulous why M&S is the shop of the moment. She explained:

“M&S has really pulled it out of the bag this season, there is so much good product to be excited about.

“A brand once known for its ‘frumpy fashion’ that notion is long gone with it now being one of the leading high street stores for womenswear.

“Its handbag range in particular is super strong with them selling 170% vs plan, with lots more designer dupes for just a fraction of the price.

“The brand is now also the #1 for style perceptions, compared to the #3 spot it had last year, this comes from a really strong design team focused on modernising the brand, not only taking into consideration how the pieces look, but how easy they are to wear also.

“Price is also a big factor with you being able to get many good quality pieces all for under £30.

“After having a sneak peak of the upcoming collection there are so many more amazing pieces that are dropping over the next few months to keep your eyes on.

“Think leopard print dresses, colourful co-ords, embroidered boho jackets, plus lots of swimwear and amazing accessories, as well as great wardrobe staples that will last year on year.”
