The Sun is not blaming the migrants.
Those who arrive legally of course have every right to a roof over their head.
In fact the fault lies with Tories who promised to take back control of our borders once Brexit ended free movement — then invented a new regime so liberal it doubled the numbers.
We recorded net migration of 745,000 in 2022 and 672,000 last year.
Britain couldn’t ever build fast enough to cope with that.
And now we are more than one million homes short.
Far too many people are chasing every property, meaning outrageous prices and rents.
Hypocrite MPs and candidates from all parties whine about that — then champion NIMBYs who block all development.
Meanwhile the juvenile Left, which opened the floodgates under Tony Blair, still considers any criticism of migrant numbers “bigoted”.
BBC reporters silence it too for fear of “racism”.
It’s time for more honesty.
Our immigration numbers would not be sustainable even if they were halved.
As for mass migration being economically vital . . . look at our anaemic growth.

THE defence hack is a mortifying outrage.
Heads must roll over the 270,000 forces pay records and thousands of private addresses exposed.
China is the prime suspect.
It has legions of tech workers dedicated to hacking and stealing intellectual property.
We cannot surely still doubt its malign intent.
Meanwhile the MoD’s data contractor not only also works for the Home Office, Met Police and our nuclear agencies, it lost prison officers’ details in ANOTHER breach in 2020.

NEW councillor Mothin Ali has exposed the Green Party’s true nature.
Many of its members are militant Corbynite extremists disguised as gentle tree-hugging do-gooders.
By day Mothin is a doting dad and accountant who grows veg.
Hand him a microphone and he snarls and rants like a man possessed.
He absurdly brands Israelis “white supremacists”, falsely claims Gaza is a “concentration camp”, calls a rabbi an “animal” and revoltingly suggested Palestinians had a right to “resist” . . . by raping and slaughtering Jews.
His election was a “win for the people of Gaza”.
How joyful they will be to learn of their new voice . . . in Leeds.
Ali is the definitive Green loon.
Out of his garden he loses the plot.
