PETER Andre and wife Emily finally revealed their newborn daughter’s name on Thursday.

And while fans were unanimously delighted by their decision, Arabella Rose Andréa, they were left questioning why the surname was slightly different to Andre.

For those not familiar with the Andre backstory, his moniker is actually a stage name with his birth certificate reading ‘Peter James Andréa’.

The slight change happened before he shot to fame in the 90s with hits like Gimme Little Sing, Mysterious Girl and Flava.

When it comes to his brood he decided to honour his heritage by bestowing on them his original family name.

His wife Emily, 34, told OK! in 2016 that she had also taken on the name after the couple’s wedding.

She said: “It’s on all the children’s birth certificates and is now my surname.”

It was Emily who broke Arabella’s name to fans alongside a new picture of her.

She wrote: “It’s taken a while but after lots of deliberation we’ve finally decided. Arabella Rose Andréa.”

Peter praised his wife, writing on his page: “I think you’ve chosen a beautiful name @dr_emily_official.

“Arabella Rose Andréa. I LOVE it and I love her.. and you of course:)”

Emily gave birth to Arabella – their third child together – at the beginning of April

The couple had been split over what to name their little girl, instead opting to call her ‘Bubba’ while they made their decision.

Peter Andre admits they still have ‘no name’ as he shares adorable new video of newborn daughter and sweet tribute to Emily

Name game

Pete had previously told fans he was “thinking outside the box” to get the name right.

He mentioned that liked the names Athena, in a nod to his Greek roots, and Charlotte, with the nickname Charlie.

But Emily later ‘took them off the table’, putting them back to square one.

Peter added in OK!: “We’ve been trying out names that our friends and family have suggested, but then Emily and I don’t seem to agree on them.

All about Peter Andre

“So I think it’s only fair that Emily decides – I hope she picks a good one.”

Last month Peter documented the struggle to settle on the perfect name.

He said: “We are still no closer to a name for our newest bundle of joy! Any time Emily and I talk about it, it just gets put aside.

“Since Emily and I agreed for her to be the one to choose, it seems to have slowed down the process even more.”

He added: “She is recovering after all, so I totally get it.

“We have less than four weeks left before we have to register her. I took our baby for a walk in her pram for the first time to drop Millie and Theo at school.

“It’s beautiful to do these things all over again.”

Baby girl’s arrival

Peter announced the birth of his newborn with a touching post.

The Mysterious Girl hitmaker wrote: “Just minutes old……

“We feel so overwhelmed right now. So happy to welcome our beautiful girl to the family.

“Mum and daughter are doing amazing. Born Tuesday 2nd April 2024, 7lb 3oz and thankfully very healthy.

“Baby has been spoilt with cuddles from Junior, Princess, Amelia and Theo who are all in love with their new little sister. As parents, we couldn’t be happier.”

He added: “Only thing is…. She has no name yet. Help !

“Thanks to all the doctors, midwives and staff at Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton. You were incredible. And Emily’s parents, whom I adore. You have both been incredible.

“I’m so happy. Just off to hold her. Thanks everyone for reading.”

Pete also has a son Junior, 18, and a 16-year-old daughter Princess from his previous marriage to Katie Price.

With Emily, whom he married in 2015, 10-year-old Amelia (known as Millie), seven-year-old Theo, and the newborn.
