Occasional Digest - a story for you

There are severe train delays in Brisbane facing commuters tonight after a man fell out of a wheelchair onto the railway tracks at a station.

The Queensland Ambulance Service says the man, aged in his 30s, hit his head and suffered injuries to his shoulder and elbow when the incident happened at Toombul station just after 4pm this afternoon.

He has been taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment.

Queensland Rail said all trains in the area were initially suspended, but are now moving again.

However, there is congestion throughout the network, with delays of up to 30 minutes in both directions on northern lines.

Other lines in the city network are facing residual delays due to the flow-on effects through the CBD.
