However, Jay’s stepdaughter Lexi was suspicious after spotting Nadine drinking vodka and has been intent on getting an adult to believe her.

She finally found someone who would listen in Stevie Mitchell – Billy’s estranged dad – who made a surprise arrival himself earlier this week.

Stevie received the cold shoulder from the Mitchell’s in the pub, before Billy raged at him in private.

However, the pensioner returned to Albert Square again in today’s episode, determined to get through to his son.

Lexi soon sought him out at the laundrette, where she told him about Nadine before bringing him back to Jay’s flat.

As Stevie sat down, he clocked Nadine pocket the flat deposit money Jay had given her, before she made a hasty exit when her phone rang.

Later, Nadine was seen meeting another woman in Beale’s Eels, where she gave her the envelope of cash and discussed her situation.

The other woman demanded the rest of her money by the end of the week before leaving, and Nadine was seen adjusting the fake baby bump she was wearing.

But she got a shock when Stevie suddenly piped up: “You wanna be careful girl…you’ll do that baby a mischief.”

Realising she had been rumbled, Nadine quickly attempted to buy Stevie’s silence, offering him a wad of £50 notes before telling him there’d be more if he continued to keep his mouth shut.

Stevie pocketed the money before Jay and Lexi arrived asking them to come to the pub.

Once at the Vic, Jay pleaded Stevie’s case to Billy before Lexi said he was “a nice man”.

Nadine then suggested Stevie go, but giving her a look, he stood up and said: “Everything you said I can’t argue with, we both know that. But I’m not the only villain in here.”

As Phil tried to get him to go, Stevie continued loudly: “No! I’m not the worst villain here, she is.

Jay was speechless as he grabbed the padding and glared at Nadine

“She’s offered me money to keep quiet about it, but I didn’t come back here for money. I came back here for family.”

He then picked up his walking stick and started prodding it into Nadine’s belly, causing everyone to gasp in horror.

As Jay lunged forward and asked what he was doing, Stevie raged: “I’m looking after my own for once!”

He then used the handle of his stick to lift Nadine’s top, revealing the fake padded bump underneath.

omg today’s show. I need Billy’s dad to stick around he is EVERYTHING.”
