The SpaceX Dragon cargo spacecraft departed from the International Space Station (ISS) on Sunday and is currently en route back to Earth, as confirmed by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). At 1:10 p.m. Eastern Time (1710 GMT) on Sunday, the spacecraft successfully undocked from the space station’s Harmony module.
Upon re-entering Earth’s atmosphere, the spacecraft is scheduled to conduct a parachute-assisted splashdown off the coast of Florida at 1:38 a.m. (0438 GMT) on Tuesday, as per NASA’s announcement. Dragon’s mission to the ISS marked SpaceX’s 30th commercial resupply services mission for NASA, transporting approximately 6,000 pounds of research investigations, crew supplies, and station hardware.
The spacecraft was launched on March 21 via a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
