A 73-year-old man has died three days after his small plane crashed at Jandakot Airport, in Perth’s southern suburbs.
Emergency services were called to the airport at 1:15pm on Friday after reports a small plane had crashed.
The man, who was the sole occupant of the VH-POR De Havilland Chipmunk, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with critical injuries.
WA Police said on Monday evening he had since died.
Aerial vision showed the plane had come to rest just outside the airport boundary, in sand paddocks surrounding the runway.
The nose of the plane was heavily damaged upon impact and the left wing visibly torn.
Pictures also showed extensive damage to the cockpit and left side of the aircraft.
The crash will be investigated by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
