GLOW UP

She transformed an aquarium bought from a thrift store into a striking centerpiece by cleaning it and using electrical tape to seal a crack.

The DIY enthusiast then poured pea gravel into the bottom of the $6 tank and artistically positioned several candles of varying heights.

She said the aquarium helps to keep everything lit while positioned on a table outside.

BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS

Sarah made the greenery in her backyard look elegant using closet door hooks from Dollar Tree.

I upgraded my backyard on a $1k budget – I added a privacy fence, furniture, & decor and didn’t even have to pay for it

She positioned different-sized hooks on a fence and then hung flower baskets on them.

She said it’s “inexpensive” and the hooks can also be used for towels when kids are playing outside.

Over 82,000 viewers liked the video and many people took to the comment section praising the tips.

“You are my absolute favorite upcycler!! These are actually beautiful, high-end-looking ideas,” one person said.

“Now you have me running in search of a fish tank there goes my couch potato Saturday [laughing],” another commented.

How to make your backyard a little paradise

Houna Bech is an interior designer and founder of the style blog With Houna.

She revealed to The U.S. Sun five tips for transforming a drab outdoor space into a “sensory-rich little paradise.”

  1. Embrace nature

“Use your landscaping, trees, flowers, and organic environment as your muse,” she said.

2. Bring the inside out

“Repeat color palettes, textures, and materials so the transition between indoors and out is seamless,” she said.

3. Create zones for specific purposes

“I might design a luxurious cabana with plush loungers and vanities for alfresco makeup sessions with my girlfriends,” she said.

4. Prioritize comfort

“I’m talking cloud-like sectionals, upholstered daybeds, and oversized weather-resistant poufs you can really envelop yourself in,” she said.

5. Get creative

“Finally, turn your entire outdoor area into an artistic installation,” Bech said.

“The hooks on the fence for hanging flower baskets… genius!” a third chimed in.

“Love this! Can’t wait to try this !!! Thank you,” another added.

The hacks come after outdoor specialist Wendy Wang told The U.S. Sun how plants of varying colors can enhance gardens.

“Incorporate potted plants or hanging baskets to instantly brighten up your balcony or patio,” she said.

“Choose low-maintenance options like succulents or herbs for a budget-friendly and practical touch of greenery.”
