After one month of use, the changes were so dramatic to their acne-prone skin that they said they almost didn’t recognize themself.
Redditor Broccoliandbeans shared the beauty recommendation in a post.
They credited the $10.90 The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil with fading their PIE, or post-inflammatory erythema.
PIEs are leftover discoloration marks left on the skin after acne is healed.
Acne, hormonal issues, and stress can cause post-inflammatory erythema.
Despite Broccoliandbeans’ best attempt to get rid of their PIE, their initial efforts proved futile.
“About eight months ago, I would use an at-home lactic acid peel (oops) about once every five days to try and help fade my PIE,” they explained.
“It did absolutely nothing for me! I cut the lactic acid out completely and just used my regular acne products.”
After a pivot to The Ordinary’s Rosehip oil, they quickly began to see results.

“A little over a month ago I introduced rosehip seed oil to my routine and DANG,” they said.
“Today I was looking in the mirror and I’m like ‘Is dat me?'” they joked.
“I still have quite a few PIE marks but they have faded and I have seen progress.
They urged others struggling with PIE to give the affordable product a try.
“It’s so frustrating to use a product for a few months and feel like it’s not doing anything! Please give it a shot if you haven’t!”
Many viewers agreed that the oil did what other skincare couldn’t.

“Agree 100%. I use COSRX Whitehead Liquid Power AHA, wait 30 mins, and apply TO’s rosehip oil before bed,” said one commenter.
“My skin is starting to look like rich people skin.”
One viewer added that the oil worked so well it gave her a baby face.
“In our house, we refer to it as ‘fetus face.’ As in, ‘I’m going to look so young, people will think I’m actually a sentient, walking fetus,'” they joked.
“I LOVE rosehip and will forever be an advocate for it,” said another.
While they didn’t use the same brand, they explained that the oil had changed their skin for the better.
“It’s actually the first product that’s really gotten me into skincare and was a product that gave me results with only washing my face and not toning, or doing masks,” they said.
“It helps with my acne. If I have any new breakouts, I add some extra rosehip and those pimples simmer down. It will never be gone from my routine.”
