Two people have sustained significant injuries after the light aircraft they were in crashed at Mount Beauty, in the eastern part of Victoria.
Police say the crash happened just before 2pm and officers are at the scene.
It is understood Ambulance Victoria and the Country Fire Brigade (CFA) are also attending the incident, which has been deemed as under control.
The CFA said it received multiple calls about the incident and its crews provided first aid until paramedics arrived on scene.
A statement from Ambulance Victoria said paramedics responded with “significant resources … including advanced life support paramedics, mobile intensive care ambulance paramedics and an air ambulance”.
Mount Beauty is a small town in north-eastern Victoria, near Falls Creek and the Alpine National Park.
