If you’re a fan of Whispering Angel but can’t justify spending £21 on a bottle, then Aldi is the place to go for a similar taste for a fraction of the price.
So much so, wine fans are now rushing to stores to bag themselves a bottle before it sells out.
Whispering Angel is a Rosé, which is a pale pink colour and is often a popular choice of drink for both special occasions and casual.
It has flavours of grapefruit, citrus and peach and is made in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, within which Provence and the Whispering Angel vineyard are found.
However, due to its “delicious taste” the price per bottle can be difficult for some to afford to drink on a regular basis.
But according to wine lovers, budget-friendly supermarket Aldi has got customers covered.
They are currently selling The Atlantique Rosé for £6.99 and shoppers have been “very excited” to see it hit the shelves.
One account called Affordable Wine Hunter on TikTok has shared a video of a wine lover shopping for the wine inside an Aldi store.
The wine expert said: “I’m very excited to see this Rosé back here in Aldi again this week.
“Couldn’t get enough of that last summer.
“Often described as The Whispering Angel dupe, grab it while you can.”
The video caption read: “Atlantique Rosé, Aldi £6:99 from Chasseaux et Fils.
“I first posted this a year ago and since then it’s started to become known as the ‘Whispering Angel Dupe’.
“It certainly has a similar style and it’s a great easy drinking Rosé.
“The Atlantique IGP is not an area referred to a lot. This area became an IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) in 2009.
“It actually covers a large area on the South west Coast of France, including the areas that surround Bordeaux and other AOC areas, so you don’t see this a lot.
“The climate is ‘Maritime’ which, given the success of Rosé in the South of France, only bodes well for rosé.”
Aldi’s Atlantique Rosé has previously taken social media by store due to its affordable price tag and mouth-watering taste.

It’s constantly sold-out in most stores because it’s proved so popular with wine lovers, who rush to grab as many bottles as possible as soon as it’s restocked.
Another Rosé which is claimed to be similar to Whispering Angel is the La Bonne Vie rosé wine.
Costing only £8.99 the wine that’s been hailed as a dupe for the favoured Whispering Angel tipple.
Posting on Aldi’s official social media account, under the username @aldiuk, the much-loved retailer shared a snap of the new product – the La Bonne Vie Rosé wine.
When’s the best time to shop at Aldi?
WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.
For reduced items – when shops open
Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.
A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.”
That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.
Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool.
For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays
Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.
New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.
For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store’s opening time.
You don’t have to head into stores to bag a Specialbuy, though.
They also go on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and you can pre-order them up to a week in advance.
As long as you spend at least £25, you’ll get the items delivered for free.
Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit as early as possible
Alongside the post, the chain penned: “THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
“What better way to celebrate than opening a bottle of our La Bonne Vie.
“This pale pink rosé has whispers of red currant, cranberry and watermelon.
“Head in store to pick up yours now!”
