Dean Lemon, together with brothers Sean and Kieran, and friend Kit Tanton on bass, formed band Room 94 – named after their rehearsal room.
In 2014, following the release of their album No Strings Attached, they achieved moderate success in the UK music scene, joining bands Union J and Lawson on their UK tours.
However, the band has been inactive since 2019, with Dean joining TikTok surprising and delighting fans.
In a video titled, “Do you remember me or the band I was in?”, Dean was seen looking almost unrecognisable after cutting his hair and losing his signature, pop-punk style haircut that at one point contained a streak of white.
Reflecting on the band’s success, the fact they made the Official UK Top 40 during the peak of their career as a band, and the “crazy” time he had, Dean noted that he was wanting to do something to mark the 10-year anniversary of the band’s biggest release.
“We’re slightly older now than we were when we released the album, but it’s been 10 years, which is crazy, like it’s… the time has just gone so fast, I actually can’t believe it,” he said.
“Anyway, it’s been so long and I did a post on my Instagram recently saying ‘It’s been 10 years, like what the hell was happening?’ and there’s literally been thousands and thousands of messages saying we should do a reunion show.”
Hinting he could be up for it, Dean continued: “I don’t know, it’s been 10 years so I don’t know if we’ve still got it in us. I don’t know if we should do it or not.
“A 10-year anniversary show of our first album. Who knows, maybe we do some other stuff as well. We definitely had a bunch of songs we didn’t release at the time that could be pretty cool to do!”
Fans were delighted at this blast from the past from Dean – who has since traded in the rockstar life to be a soon-to-be dad-of-two running a social media agency – and shared how much they loved the band.
“Oh I remember you and the band, I still have my ‘Baby I’m a rockstar’ tattoo as proof lol,” wrote one fan.
Another excited listener added: “Oh my god this brings back memories. My first concert was Room 94 and it was one of the best concerts I’ve been to!”
“Still always listen to all your albums in the car!” added a third. “Please do a tour again! Favourite band ever.”
