All 26 fighters on the card had no issue making weight at the official weigh-ins earlier in the day.

And they got their final glimpses of one another at the ceremonial weigh-ins, which took place in front of a raucous crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Tensions were high in several face-offs, but none more so than the one for the main event.

Light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira and challenger Jamahal Hill had to be separated by security and UFC president Dana White.

Brazilian Pereira proudly donned his traditional Pataxo war paint and headgear as he jawed down the returning champion.

And he vowed to make him pay for his negative words at the pre-fight, which came just days after he asked him to sign his official UFC 300 hoodie.

Strawweight queen Weili Zhang took part in a tame staredown with countrywoman Yan Xiaonan.

And fan favourites Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway took part in a fiery but respectful final staredown before their BMF title fight.

UFC 300 – Alex Pereira vs Jamahal Hill: How to watch landmark Las Vegas event

The stacked nature of UFC 300 has well and truly seen it permeate the mainstream, so much so Dana White expects it to be a record-breaking card.

He told ESPN: “When you think about any fight that we’ve ever done or that boxing does, there are always big main events or big co-main events with stars.

“But when you talk about a card from top to bottom – the very first fight of the night – until the main event [nothing is bigger].

“The first fight of the night on ESPN is [Deiveson] Figueiredo and [Cody] Garbrandt.

“They’re both former world champions, Figueiredo has broken a ton of records.

“[He has] the most knockdowns in UFC flyweight history, the most submission attempts.

“And Garbrandt is tied for the most knockdowns in bantamweight history.

“The list goes on and on with all the records these guys have broken.

“That’s the very first fight of the night. That could main event on a card.

“Basically, the first fight of the night could main event and that’s how every single fight throughout the rest of the night is.”

He added: “When you think about it, it’s the greatest card ever assembled in combat sports history. Not just UFC, not just MMA, ever.”
